The essentials
Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and Meadow. They explain what Meadow is, what you can expect from it during the beta, and what we expect from you.
Last updated October 14, 2026
1 Summary
Meadow is a public beta. It may change, break or be withdrawn, and there is nothing to buy in it.
You keep ownership of what you plant and post, and you let us use it only as needed to run Meadow. Treat other people well, stay safe, and respect the law and other people's property while you walk.
Anyone within about 500 metres of a seed you plant can see exactly where it is and who planted it.
This summary is for convenience. The sections below are the agreement.
2 This agreement
These terms are between you and Denis Nadarevic, an individual based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada ("Meadow", "we", "us"). They cover the Meadow iPhone app, the website at plantasong.com and the related services.
By creating an account or using Meadow, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Meadow. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
3 A beta on TestFlight
Meadow is currently a public beta distributed through Apple's TestFlight. It is not available on the App Store. Beta software is unfinished. Features may change, stop working or be removed, data may be lost, and the service may be unavailable at times.
Meadow has no paid features during the beta. Your use of TestFlight is also subject to Apple's terms.
4 Who can use Meadow
You must be 13 or older to use Meadow. If your local law sets a higher minimum age, that age applies. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Meadow only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
You may not use Meadow if we have previously removed your account for breaking these terms, or if the law prohibits us from providing it to you.
5 Your account
You need an account to plant, collect or post. Give accurate information when you sign up, keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Do not impersonate anyone, and do not choose a handle or name meant to mislead people about who you are.
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings, Account. The Privacy Policy explains what is deleted and what may remain.
6 Meadow+ and early testers
Meadow+ is a planned subscription. It is not on sale and not switched on in the app during the beta. We have not set its price or final features. If it goes on sale, it will be sold and billed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms, and we will publish the details before it does.
The early tester promise
Everyone who joins before paid launch keeps Meadow+ for as long as Meadow offers it.
- Who qualifies. Anyone who creates a Meadow account before the day Meadow+ first goes on sale ("paid launch"). The account creation date in our records decides it. We will announce the paid launch date at least 14 days ahead.
- What you get. Meadow+ as it exists at any given time, at no charge, on the account you created before paid launch. You will not be asked to pay for it on that account.
- For how long. For as long as Meadow offers Meadow+ to anyone. If Meadow+ is discontinued or Meadow shuts down, the promise ends with it. We will give at least 30 days' notice before either happens.
- What can change. The features in Meadow+ may change over time, for everyone, paying or not.
- What it does not cover. Accounts created on or after paid launch; moving Meadow+ to another account; accounts suspended or removed for breaking these terms; and any separate paid add-ons Meadow may sell, unless we say they are part of Meadow+.
- If you delete your account, the promise ends for that account and cannot be restored on a new one.
7 What you plant and post
You keep ownership of what you create in Meadow, including your notes, posts, comments, profile and photos.
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy and display that content only as needed to operate Meadow, for example to show your seed to people nearby, your post in the feed and your profile to other users. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people have collected and copies kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
You confirm that you have the right to post what you post and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. If you believe something on Meadow infringes your rights, write to support@plantasong.com with enough detail to identify the work and the content.
8 Acceptable use
Do not use Meadow to:
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone;
- post hate speech, sexual content, content involving minors, graphic violence, or content that encourages self-harm;
- impersonate anyone, or post spam, scams or unsolicited promotion;
- plant seeds in dangerous places, or on private property or anywhere else you are not allowed to be;
- encourage other people to go somewhere dangerous or off-limits;
- break the law;
- fake your location, or use modified apps or automation to appear somewhere you are not;
- scrape Meadow, or try to work out seed locations outside the app;
- interfere with, overload or try to gain unauthorised access to Meadow's systems.
9 Reports and enforcement
You can block, mute or report other users, and report seeds, posts and comments in the app. Reports go to the Meadow team for review.
We may remove content, or suspend or remove an account, if we believe these terms have been broken, if the law requires it, or if someone's safety is at risk. We are not obliged to monitor what users post, and we do not endorse it.
10 Music and third-party services
Meadow plays 30-second previews from Apple's catalogue. It does not host or sell full recordings. Each song can be opened in Apple Music.
Connecting Apple Music is optional and needs your own Apple Music subscription for some features. Your use of Apple Music, the App Store, TestFlight and other third-party services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
All rights in recordings, artwork and song information belong to their owners. Planting a song gives you no rights in it.
11 Walking, places and your safety
Pay attention to where you are. Watch for traffic and your surroundings, not your phone. Do not use Meadow while driving.
Obey the law while you walk, follow the rules of the places you visit, and do not trespass. Do not go somewhere unsafe or off-limits because a seed is there. You decide whether a place is safe to visit.
Think about what a seed reveals. When anyone is within about 500 metres of a seed you planted, their app shows the seed's exact spot and your profile as the planter. The song and your note are shown only within about 50 metres, or once the seed is revealed or collected. A seed planted at your home can show where you live. Meadow does not show your live location to other users.
You are responsible for your own safety while using Meadow.
12 Ending this agreement
You can stop using Meadow and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or remove your account if you break these terms, if your account creates a legal or safety risk, or if we stop offering Meadow. We may also end the beta or Meadow as a whole.
The sections on content licences already granted, disclaimers and liability, and governing law continue to apply after this agreement ends.
13 Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, Meadow is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Meadow. Our total liability for any claim relating to Meadow is limited to the amount you paid us for Meadow in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
14 Changes
We may change these terms. If we do, we will update this page and the date at the top, and for significant changes we will give notice in the app or by email. If you keep using Meadow after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using Meadow and delete your account.
15 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory law of the place where you live.
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Meadow. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in effect.
